Welcome to the Principal's desk
Fáilte Romhat, Welcome and thank you for visiting our school website.
My name is Keith Joyce and I am the Principal at Radharc na Mara Primary School. Our school is an amalgamation of Holy Trinity NS and St. Michaels NS the two schools previously situated on this campus. The schools have been located on this site since 1969 and we have a rich history and a large alumini throughout our city.
Our school here in Mervue boasts some of the finest facilities with extensive grounds of over 7 acres on this campus. We utilise these fine grounds to their fullest in order to deliver a broad and fulfilling curriculum to the children here at Radharc na Mara. Within the school buildings we have a magnificent sports hall, an ASD unit, modern classrooms, a library, a newly established Nurture Room and sensory rooms for our children. We use book rental schemes to ensure our children have the best resourced materials to aid their educational development.
Our school is a Catholic School under the patronage of the Bishop of Galway, and we encourage our children to live in the light of the key Christian values. We also welcome children of other faiths and show to them the respect and courtesy that we as Catholics have come to expect in our community.
As a principal I am delighted to lead such a hard-working and innovative staff here at Radharc na Mara. The staff at the school are committed to constantly reflecting and improving the level of education and care that they provide. Recently our staff collected over €40,000 to make improvements to the ASD unit which we have called Tír na nÓg. A state of the art sensory room, life-skills room and a fully equipped Occupational Therapy room has been completed at Radharc na Mara. We constantly strive to improve our learning environments and are looking forward to improving more of the facilities throughout the school. Our school also has an excellent pre-school and after-school facility. We also have a fully established Homework Club here on site on Mondays and Thursdays.
This is an exciting time for our new school, we have a new uniform, new crest and so many new features around the school. Our community is very important to us here in Radharc na Mara and we continue to keep our strong ties with the church, clubs and charitable organisations located in Ballybane and Mervue. It is an honour to lead this fine school and I look forward to reinforcing and forging new links and bonds with the community for many years to come.
Kind regards
Beir Bua
