Distance LearningDear Parents
During this current lockdown the teachers have arranged work for the children to do each day. We will post enough work for each child for two weeks at a time. I will notify you by text each time new work has been arranged for the children.
Some teachers are preparing learning packs that are to be collected from the school every two weeks. The teachers will contact you if a learning pack is to be collected for your child.
The next block of work that is prepared by the teachers is from Monday 25th January to Friday 5th February. Please click on the links below to see what work the teachers have prepared for your class
If you have any school related queries during this lockdown please email info@mervueprimary.ie
If anyone needs to contact Orla, our Home School Community Liaison Teacher they can do so at 0871953504
Hello to all our Radharc na Mara community,
Our next block of work is beginning on February 22nd. We ask you to take a few days off now to enjoy some nice walks and spend some time with your family. I hope all the pancakes went down well yesterday!! Today is Ash Wednesday and it marks the beginning of the Lenten period for our faith. There is a Lenten prayer service at the bottom of this post to guide you through your prayers and reflection during the season of Lent.
It does look like an end is in sight for this lockdown and some dates are being mentioned for a return to school. You will hear from Mr. Munroe as soon as the official date is announced. Until then, please keep up your remote learning and continue to listen to government guidelines regarding social distancing. Stay Safe and work hard for the remainder of this lockdown.

Hello to all our Radharc na Mara community,
We are in our 3rd fortnightly block of learning and the weeks are flying by. Already we are seeing signs of Spring as the daffodils push their heads up in our gardens. Spring is a new beginning and hopefully we are witnessing a new beginning in the fight against the virus as the case numbers are dropping.
I know many of you are now engaging with your teachers' over Zoom and See-Saw, which is a great way to keep in touch with your learning. Please continue your best efforts using these methods and remember to stay in touch at least once a week with your teacher by email, or when they call your parents' mobile.
Next week is very important week for us as a Catholic school. Lent begins on Ash Wednesday the 17th of February . You will of course have had your pancakes 🥞 on Shrove Tuesday, but the next day is the beginning of an important time for Christians throughout the world. Use https://www.scoilnet.ie/search/?q=Lent to gather more information about the sacrifices we make before the coming of Easter. This Sunday (February 14th) is the day of love when we remember Saint Valentine ♥ who died a Christian martyr in Rome in the 3rd century. The Britannica online world book is a fabulous source of information about this very brave man (www.britannica.com/biography/Saint-Valentine) .
As a teacher I am always excited by new learning methods so I am setting you a small task for the next fortnight.......If anybody uses a really good educational site then please send it on to my email address. We are going to compile a list of new websites for you to explore during your lockdown experience. If you find a new website, not already listed, then please send it to me for inclusion in the updated list of links below.
